Orange ball ID please!

This came in with some Salty Bottom live rock a couple of weeks ago. A bit smaller than a golf ball. Hard.

Is it simply a small rock covered in coralline, or is it something else? Nothing else on the rocks has the same color, and no algae attach or grow on it.

I would have thought sponge, too, from the color/shape, but it's hard - not at all soft. Tunicates are soft, right?

based on the research I’ve done, yeah I believe so. How about I try and get some people in here that know more?

Possibly an encrusting sponge on an old shell? The design kinda looks like a spiral shell. I know encrusting sponges can be quite thin sometimes

Apparently they have a internal structure that can make them seem hard. But it could be a encrusting Sponge like stated above
