Hi, about a week ago I picked up my first coral as a "test" to see if my tank is ready, there has been rapid growth and I'm really happy with it when I was looking at it at night and saw this orange worm thing, any idea what it is?

Thanks.

It doesn't look like a very healthy GSP with that few of polyps. Have you tried blowing it off or lightly scraping with some tweezers?

My tank has been running for about a year now, I got a very small amount of it because I know that it can grow fast In the right conditions. In the daytime it opens up and looks very healthy, I have not tried to blow it off, but I can try.

does the orange thing move? i had some bright orange stuff like that on live rock when I first put it in my tank, my theory is it was a dead coralline flourescing differently than it would when alive, and it disappeared in a few days.
I doesn't move from what I can tell, but ill check tonight, thanks.
