Anybody ever ordered live fish and critters via the net, i'm tired of being ripped OFF by the locals.....

EX; blue Hippo tang, $73 for a 4 inch on the net

What was your experience like and do you recommend it, thanks.

Following along - I'm wondering about the survival rate for fish and coral.

I have ordered a large number online, I have used a number of different supplier and for the most part everything arrived healthy and happy. I do live in a cold climate in the winter so lets just say I did have 2 shipments where I had loses, cleanup crew, one because a box sat outside in 30 temps for 3 hours and the next because of snow storm delaying shipment. I usually don't try and order in the winter due to these reasons but I broke down and did. Also where there were loses they replaced them or at least gave me store credit. As far as hardiness in shipping, the most hardy would be corals, second fish and then third would be snails/hermits, and last would be more sensitive invertebrates such as shrimp.

I've ordered fish from bluezoo as well and plan to again.
I've bough corals from several online vendors and all have done well. Look on the forums and make sure they are reputable.

I order my fish almost exclusively from divers den out of the last 12 fish ive ordered zero have died. and their guarentee is amazing

Divers den and liveaquaria much healthier fish than my LFS plus a 14 days stay alive. Can't get that here.
