Ouch - an unknown stinger!

If that is what is, I haven’t seen them in almost 20 years. But looking back at the structure of your last post, it does look just like some what came in on some stuff my dad got from Guam years ago. He kept it in his tank until his copperband decided to eat it all lol. Then a torch got a hold of the other small colony one night and melted it.

If it was me, I would keep, but not touch lol. Also, I feel your pain. Got thrown into a fire coral a few years ago by a rouge current and talk about pain. It sucked.

I havent seen them in over 30 years. . . forgot they exist
 
Now I know what it is and what to be careful of, I think I'm going to keep it...its fascinated me from the beginning. Here in the UK no-one has been able to identify it on a couple of facebook groups I'm on over here...so it sounds pretty unusual! Thanks for the interest, if my hand doesn't drop off in the next week, it stays! :)
