How bad did I screw up? I got some Red Sea mg supplement tonite and tried to dose manually. I sent the mg up 300ppm. Went from 1000 to 1300

You'll be fine! A lot of people (myself included) keep Mg in the 1400-1500ppm range and IMO you should strive to keep it at 1200+ one way or the other so you're right where you need to be!

How bad is that it jumped 300ppm in 10 minutes ?

It is at industry norm although was raised rapidly. You should be ok. If a bit nervous, you can remove 5 gals into a bucket and save water for future top off and hold off dosing for a few days.

Continue to monitor MAG levels too

I would not be nervous. Also, how long after dosing did you test? Need probably at least an hour of dissipation for the test to be remotely accurate

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
