Params for SPS?

here is a full tank shot. This was freehand so sorry for any blurs.
Last month I had a massive toxic war so my acros dont look so hot. I lost a few but the ones who survived are recovering slowly. (brown flatworm)

Nice. How long have you been running triton?

So my alk is 7 and I want to get to 8. The alk calculator says I need 32 ml to go from 7 to 8.... So how does one go about that? Certainly I don't put 32 ml in at once.

Split the dosage over a few days. 10ml/day, test daily until target dkh is reached.

Then once it is reached how do you maintain it? Or can you direct me to directions with the proper procedures?

The goal is to figure out the amount your tank consumes in a day. It's apparent your tank doesn't need much at the moment so continue dosing 5-7ml/day once you have reached your target. If your params start to climb, reduce your daily dosage or if they start to fall, increase the dosage. Try to test parameters at the same time each day. Once your numbers are somewhat stable for a few days you have your tanks daily consumption.

Yeah I wish I could keep it tighter... No chiller and don't really want to add one.

You can, set the heater for 80. Fans are your friend as well.

IME sps do not like the temp to swing that much.

P_20150803_201622.jpg A 2 degree swing imo is the most
If your water is getting hot it will cause bleaching or the expelling of zooxanthellae
I got my chiller for 80$ shipped to my door.
Its a temporary setup just for sumer time temps.

What I have learned over the years of doing this fans adds to evaporation. Its best just to get online and find that chiller going for cheap money. It will save in the long run on your RODI system

this

i bought my 1/2 hp chiller for $300 on craigslist.

dont have to get all fancy with it.

For sure Russ!
I got my chiller for 80$ and runs like a champ.
No need to pay the outrageous prices for chillers. I got mine from the "online auction" and works perfectly.
A person will spend more in filters due to the excess water evap.
