Parrot fish beak problem

So I’ve had this parrot fish in DT for a few weeks and the beak isn’t looking good to me. Eating very good! The beak is not smooth and has brown spots. Do parrot fish need something to sharpen the beak? Sorry for the bad pictures.

I’ve noticed that he doesn’t like to pick at the rocks very much witch is kind of odd.

He isn’t interested at all. I did use peas in the mix. Should I use some garlic or pellet food in the next batch? Maybe some frozen food?

A mix of frozen food is what I feed all of my fish. They love it. Maybe your Parrotfish will too. How does the area around the beak look today?

Looking the same. He is one of my best eaters he will eat as much frozen and pellets as I will feed. I feed frozen twice a day and pellets twice a day he probably isn’t hungry enough to pick at the bland plaster of Paris.

Have you ever used "Masstick" in your tanks? Mix the masstick with what you fish likes to eat, and then smear the mix onto the plaster of paris or rocks.

Well Masstick on the Plaster of Paris sitting on the sand didn’t work. My green serpent starfish got it before anyone even saw it. I might need to suspend the plaster somehow.
