So I have a Aiptasia problem in my 40 gallon tank. I have a Aiptasia Eating filefish who is basically useless. I am thinking about getting a peppermint shrimp but have some concerns about its compatibility in my tank. Maybe someone can help answer me questions. Is a peppermint shrimp ok with a cleaner shrimp and a blood shrimp in same tank. Will peppermint shrimp go after rock flower anemones? Thanks for any info.

When I had a peppermint shrimp (it was eaten by a brittle star) it would pick at my corals (or could have been taking food from them) but in my opinion they are pretty annoying with corals. With anemones I don't know. My peppermint shrimp didn't pick on corals till a month later so you can try them but that's my story.

He will be fine with the other shrimp. I can't speak to rock nem compatibility with any certainty. As to other coral compatibility, cleaner shrimps are far more annoying than peppermints IME.

My peppermint attacked rock flower anemones on two occasions, before I banished him to the sump. Peppermints will kill small aiptasia but are unlikely to attack anything larger than a dime.

To get the filefish to eat aiptasia you have to make him hungry. Try skipping a couple days of food, or putting him in an acclimation box during feeding. Be reasonable and don't let the fish go more than 3 days without supplemental food.
