pH Adjustment fo hyposalinity

I have a flasher wrasse in QT with signs of ich. I typically treat with CP but have heard that there are issues with CP treatment and some wrasses. I have a 30 gallon QT tank with auto top off. Folks who are employing hyposalinity, how are you managing for low pH? I've slowly been lowering over the past 48 hours and adjusting with buffer. My question is, once the 1.009 salinity has been reach and pH adjusted, can I just add the buffer to the top off?

FWIW; I haven't had any issues treating flasher/fairy wrasses with CP. Neither has a LFS I advise who specializes in high end wrasses. The issues seems to be with six line & melanurus.

Tank transfer method is another good option for treating ich (only).
