Hello. My 180 sps reef has been in a steady decline over the last 4 months or so. Gone thru the ringer trying to figure out whats going on. Sometimes it could be something very basic. I noticed my pH probe has been giving me high readings lately. In the 8.5 range at its peak. 8.2 at the lowest. My kh has been swinging between 7.8 and 9 which is not great i know. Ive gad very hard time keeping that parameter steady lately. Last 4-6 weeks ive really been losing colonies and frags left and right. Browning. Stn. Rtn. I cant rule out pests like mefw or aefw because i cant tell if i see them or just some floating particulates in the water. Just wondering if the pH can cause such stress. Ive never really paid attention to pH. In my experience that was one parameter that kinda balanced on its own.

I don't think your ph swing Is a issue. How are you maintaining your calcium, and alkalinity? Are you dosing with a doser ? There could be many reasons as you said for the decline. Have you tested all your parameters such as phosphates ,nitrates, potassium etc.?

It's not pH. Need to know alk, calc and mag, and for the bad guys, nitrates and phosphates. Not ruling out flat worms, but the numbers might tell a story.

Yes i use an autodoser. I test all parameters regularly. I even did a Triton test coupke weeks ago. Nitrates have gotten a little high. Around 6-8 ppm range. Phos 0.04. Everything else is within normal range
