I am thinking that it is leaching from them and coming to equilibrium.

That was my problem. It took a long time and allot of dosing to reach it. I also at first never bothered with PO4 so it was understandable that it took so long to get there.

Id say close to 10 months. Heavy stocked tank. I cant stop the carbon dosing. If I do the PO4 and NO3 jump in a few days.
