I got this dorasa clam on 2/24 and first few weeks opened and mantle would extend past the shell about 1- 1.5 inches but last few weeks seems to be pulled in more. The front half seems to extend more at times than the back and can bee seen in one of the pic. Im not sure if this is pinched mantle or something different. Its not around any corals to be stung, once in a while the cleaner wrasse might peck on the rim. Its about 5" long

Looks like pinched mantle to me. I'm sure the picking by the wrasse doesn't help. Try running extra carbon for now.

Thanks, will swap out the carbon now. When you say "Extra" is that double normal or a full canister? I normally run what the BRS calculator shows which is 3/4 cup of the ROX 0.8

I'd say double up on it. I've done freshwater dips in the past but I don't like recommending them to often. Read up on the freshwater dips if you plan to go that route, sometimes it's the last option.

So I have been running the carbon none stop and notice no real change. read up on fresh water and decided to do one on the 20th, did 20 min dip, but wasn't able to flush it any as it closed up and did not open, tried keeping under the light to help open but no luck. It stayed closed for a bit and once opened was more receded. as of today it is about same place it was before the dip. I did notice when reading about FW dip some said it took multiple attempts for it to work but never saw anywhere how long one should wait between each attempt or if that is really is an approach to take.
