Please help, vortech mp40 blinking red

I have a vortech mp40w 2nd gen, not ecosmart. It is the slave pump connected to wxm. It wont stop flashing red I tried unplugging for awhile but it just starts flashing red immediately after plugging back in. Buttons dont respond, I'm guessing due to wxm and being a slave pump, not sure though. Otherwise I would have tried the normal hold mode til flash white then hold mode and set, then reboot. I'd really like to get flow going in my tank again so any help is appreciated thanks.

I haven't had luck with a blinking red, but it's always worth a shot. I also have no idea if a WXM would or could be a possible cause. I'd recommend slightly different button pushing than what you explained in the OP. With the wetside removed, try this....a soft reset:

Hold Mode and Set, then Mode, and finally Mode and Set again.

Ecotech is willing to take the unit in and test/repair, but I question that cost verses just purchasing another controller. It still is worth a request to Ecotech....especially if the WXM has something to do with it. They are very quick to respond....within a day for the times I contacted them. I was fortunate enough to have a local reefer friend who had upgraded controllers a number a years ago, simply give me his old controllers. Best of luck. Let us know how it works out.

After messing around with it for a couple hours I finally got it to reset. Had to disconnect both pumps from the WXM and reset the master, then the buttons on the gen 2 slave pump would respond finally so I reset it also and connected them both to the wxm again. I have been meaning to get a es or qd driver for it for awhile and after this guess I'll stop procrastinating.
