Please help with my new interruptus. He has these marks on both sides of his head, although one side is worse than the other. I have had this fish in QT for 5 ½ weeks now and all has been going great until I notice these marks. Almost looks like something is eating his skin. When I first got him, he was in CP (yes, the pure kind, I got a script from my vet.) for 3 weeks then transferred to a different clean cycled QT tank. Once in there I dosed with General Cure and redosed 48 hours later as per instructions. Did water change and added carbon. I start seeing these marks so I dosed Prazi-Pro as I was out of General Cure thinking maybe it had flukes and didn’t get them all the first time wih General Cure. Did water change after that treatment and marks are getting bigger and worse. Today I did a FW dip, but fish pooped in water so I could not see if anything came off. Fish is currently in a different clean uncycled tank. There is also what looks like strings hanging on his bottom fins Any ideas? Is this maybe spots where a parasite has come off? Should I dose with antibiotics? Please advise me what to do next. Thanks

The fins look like slime or something. I’m not sure what to make of the marks, perhaps HLLE?

I suppose an infection is possible if the fish had flukes or any external parasite.

Let’s get some more help #reefsquad

From all the meds and water changes, it stressed. dose vitamin C and B-12 with the frozen bound with focus. If you make a batch of frozen then skip the focus and soak the food.

Here is another picture the day I got the fish. The phot is not as clear, I didn't realize it before but you can see it already in this photo, just not as bad. Can Angels get HLLE.

I have a ruptus for 2 years now and it developed the same thing during the quarantine.
I just acclimated him to a large frag tank all by him self and fed him Larry's soaked in AF Fish V.
He recovered slowly but is a strong amazing fish as of today.

So maybe I should just put him in the 180 DT. There is only one other fish in there and it is a Mitratus Butterfly. I do have vitamin C I can soak it in LRS.

Yes, and Yes

He's in the DT tank now! Thanks for the help!

Keep us posted on this amazing fish.
I enjoy mine the fullest everyday.
Wait till he matured and you get a lot more electric blue on it.

Glad it's in now.. I have to ask... why such a long QT?

My LFS, Modern Aquatics, here in Indy got him for me. Don't know his source.

Correction, that is Modern Aquatix. Don't want him getting mad at me for miss spelling his company name lol
