Hey Guys, just wanted to get your advice or worry..

I have a Acid Rain BTA, he was doing fine in a 30G Cube.

Just last week, I upgraded to a 50G Cube. He was fine for the first few days, then just 2 days ago...he seemed kind of out of it. His foot could still attach and everything, but just deflated and looked meh.

Everywhere I placed him, after awhile he dislodged and just floated to the sand bed.

Per my friends advice at the LFS i bought him from, told me to put him in a tupper ware away from the Powers.

Hes been doing okay, but still deflated. He spreads out..and is definetly alive. If you touch him he shrivels back up. I take him out everyday since the incident and reef dip him for a few minutes and put him back in the tank. He still seems to be in his same state as..delfated..maybe some inflation in the tips, very little.

He doesn't smell, or no ooze or anything like that is coming out of him. I attached 2 pictures of what he looks like right now. He has a hole that you can see through him through the mouth and is widening..Im wondering if he is spitting? When he shrivels up, the mouth..or gap closes.

Any help is appreciated it thanks and merry christmas.

hey Reeahholic, thanks for the response...should i remove him from the tank and presume he's dead? I wouldnt want to him take out my whole tank if he's dying already and pollute it more..

Going back and rereading your initial post I think you have an issue with the new tank.

How long has this tank been up and can you give us some quick facts about the system.

I think treating him in Cipro for a week will do wonders. That's if you want him to survive.

If you want to chance it, just see if he'll acclimate to the new tank.

First you'll need to do some WC's or figure out the reason for his deflation.

Something is making him unhappy.

In those pictures it is far from being dead, do not discard it. Test that water, also i wouldnt keep him in a Tupperware outside of the tank... inside the tank where water is still moving and exchanging is what i would do. Outside of the tank in a Tupperware the water is just sitting and not being exchanged...
Lights changed? Flow Changed? Something changed for him to be unhappy...
Definitely not dead in those pictures and IMO not close to being dead...
I had one "die" and i had one that i killed messing around with it, touching it, moving it, removing it into a tupperware, inspecting it... Basically not leaving it alone...
The one that died on its own was very very noticeable... it was coming apart, almost like inside out...
just my experience...
I now have 4 Quads and 1 Rose

in those pictures, it looks like it is mad about something

I would get the bowl back in the tank and leave him in there... they need water exchange, and lighting.. if he was floating on the bottom, it was because he did not being placed where it was. let them find a place to be they are happy.
When you upgraded to the new tank, did you keep all your water and add a little or is it completely a fresh setup?
What are the water levels, and did you keep the same lighting or move to something new?

IMO it still looks alive from those pics just upset. I would drill holes in side of bowl and clip it to the side of tank or if it's foot has a good hold of the bottom of bowl put it on the sand bed next to rock with a small rock in the bowl to keep it weighted down. You said you have been pulling out of the tank and dipping it. I would just leave it be for a couple of days they take a couple of days to normal out.

Thank you, everyone for the huge response.

Currently he is in the tank in the tupperware on the bottom with rocks weighing him down for the past few days. I just take him out and dip him for a few minutes..then place him back.

He for sure didnt get damaged during the exchange or anything like that. I just found it weird for him to be acting like that.

The 50g tank has been up for a week now, I did transfer about 10G from the old tank to the new one. Everything else is doing very well, even my other BTA anemone.

Im going to get the water tested today at my LFS to see whats going on.

The new water was tank cycled water.

As soon as I get the water tested ill give you guys an update ! Thanks !

Ill do a quick 10% water change today after i get the results from my LFS for water testing, yeah...i should probably buy a test kit lol

I would just let it be.. no more moving it around or you could kill him off just by messing with it.

I agree, I learned from experience... I killed mine with all the back and forth....

hey guys, so good news and bad news:

Good news, got my waters tested; everything is in normal parameters:

ALK- 7.05
Phosphate - 0.02
PH - 8.2
Nitrate - 0
Ammonia 0.25

bad news..the anemone died this afternoon. The color was still good on him, but part of him started losing color, and stunk really bad. I took him out immediately and did a 5% water change.

Everything is still fine.

The other Anemone is fine...weird.

O well you lose some you win some..

Thanks guys for all your help !
