So, my husband and I are wanting to get 1 or 2 more fish. I'll give parameters and what we have successfully kept so we can get better, more informed options.
We have a 55 gallon FOWLR. 4 foot long by 1 foot 9 inches tall.
82 degrees (slowly getting back down to 78 after a temp spike)
0 Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and Copper.
40 lbs live rock.
The tank has been up and running for over 2 years. We just ended a 78 day fallow period on it and moved our fish from our 29g into it.
Currently calling it home are:
1 Gladiator clown
1 Black & White Ocellaris
1 6 dot sleeper goby
1 Firefish
1 Diamond Watchman Goby
1 Redheaded Goby
1 I don't know for sure blenny or goby (chill temperament)
Random amount of hermits and 1 tulip snail.
Last but not least, our featherduster.
So all of these fish get along splendidly. They lay on each other, swim together. We have successfully kept a Huma Trigger (did re-home when he outgrew our tank). The next fish on this list died during our velvet outbreak about 87 days ago but we did have them for almost 2 years until then. A dwarf white spotted Hawaii puffer, a flame Fin tomini tang, a coral beauty angel, a percula and midnight clown.
We've spoken of getting a mandarin dragonet. We have a natural population of munnid isopods we recently discovered but we also know we would need to cultivate copepods to successfully keep a mandarin. We've also discussed a flame angel.
We are totally open to suggestions and willing to amend any ideas for the safety and health of our current fish and any fish to be. Open to any suggestions.
Thank you in advance!

There are many wonderful species of wrasse, I current have a Labout's and I love him. Look at fairy and flasher wrasses. You can use liveaquaria to see which ones you like and would suit your tank then the chart I linked to make sure they would be compatible.

Do any of them need special care or food? The bird wrasses seemed normal but all fish have a particular way about them.

My leopard wrasse eats frozen food and picks at pods. He is a little pig.

They do prefer multiple smaller meals throughout the day, however the ones I have had seem to do fine with once or twice daily feedings. An auto feeder can help if you go with multiple feedings.

We feed twice daily. Mostly frozen food but we do keep seaweed for them to munch on as well. Spirulina brine, plankton, emerald entree, and new life spectrum .5mm pellets.

One of my favorites are blennies. They have great personalities and are fun to watch. Another favorite is the Ebli Angel. My other all time favorite is the yellow watchman goby with a pistol shrimp. I love watching their interaction :)

I do love my watchman and shrimp pair, amazing the amount of sound the shrimp can produce too.

Really that's enough fish, nice combination, but you could have 2 more, and that's pushing it. Wrasses would be good or even royal gramma
