So I used this for my garden but how about a reef tank. All along I save my eggshells dry them and then turn them into a powder and use it for my garden. Is the calcium from eggshells ok to use a reef tank?

I doubt the powdered eggshell would be water soluble. You would probably need to dissolve them in an acid and then neutralize it to make this work.

It can't just be added since it is calcium carbonate and wont dissolve. It would be used in a CaCO3/CO2 reactor, but I wouldn't as it has a different trace element profile than coral skeletons. :)

I didn't really think it would work thanks for answering thank you both.
