Preparation is key

Thought I was prepared for fish shipment today, but addition of sand into a "landing pad" tank in the AM did not go as planned. Tank has been cloudy all day long and I had no option but to add the wrasses into the cloudy tank. Had the water circulating for almost a week with live rocks, but now I wish I had gone ahead and gotten sand earlier and had it running with sand before arrival day. Result was delay in acclimation. Fortunately, the H. chrysus wrasses seem to be out and happy. The M. bipartitis has disappeared into the sand/rocks and it was too cloudy to see where it went. Anyway, always best to be prepared well in advance!

At least right now I can see the fish:

If you can access a hang on power filter - running it will entrap the minute particles and clear this up quickly. Is this hazardous to fish - Perhapes not. When I set up my 400g, fish in tubs after near 2 days was enough risk for me and I entered fish as pictured with no issues

These are sand-sleeping wrasses, too, so I imagine they can manage with some cloudy water. Bit annoying, because had I gotten a 1 or 2 day head start, probably wouldn't be thinking about this--live and learn.
