Preparing dry rock?

I think the dry rock BRS sells is man made. The rock @MamaLovesHerReefTank has been established live rock at one point. I think that’s a huge difference because of all the dead material still in the rock.... anyways just my .02 cents

This is correct. My LFS was moving from one store to another bigger location. He had to break down all his tanks in order to move them over. A few of his tanks had aptasia and who knows what else. I wanted the rock but not the other problems. I chose to do the acid in order to start with clean rock. I did lose some rock weight but nothing significant.
