I'm trying to do the right thing for the first time in running a fish QT. Should I do a preventative treatment for my fresh wild caughts? Years ago I bred Discus and as a general rule I treated for internal parasites when my fry were 6 weeks old. Should I treat? And what should I use?

You're going to possibly get a few different answers on this. I prefer ttm combined with Prazipro followed by 3-4 weeks of observation. I don't start Prazipro until the fish is eating.

^^^ I like this approach as well. I do suggest treating any new fish before putting them in the DT, but a minimum 3 week observation period would be the very least you could do.

I will have to learn exactly what tank transfer is. I've seen it in various post but have not yet looked at every step involved. My qt right now is home to 1 blue tang, 5 chromis and a small pipe fish. All ordered from a diver/collector and added to the already established qt within 18 hours of each other (1 week in qt at this point). The hippo is eating well, still hiding but comes out when there's motion in the room.

Here's the link. I really like TTM and it's my go-to for QTing new fish.
