Hi,

Really frustrated and have no idea what kind of problem I'm having. My two frogspawn looks beaten up. I've had my 75G tank running for 2 months, I have two frogspawn frags and a torch. Two frogspawns were looking fine for about (a month for 1 and 2 weeks for the other). I finally had the flow right and wanted to make sure my other parameters are right. Then I brought some water to test at the LFS, they said my Mag was a little low (around 1150). So I bought some Mag +(forgot name), I added it as instructed on the label, 1 cap for every 20 gallons, I put 3 cap fulls in my sump. This is all I can think of that would of caused this. Couple days later the Frogspawn has shunken and other looks beaten up a little curly.

Just a little description on the corals, the first one was always small, but the tentacles was longer and fatter and not curling. The second one use to have fat long tentacles, now it's all shruken, is still gets chubby when the lights are on, but the length of the tentacle is about 1/5. The flow on it might of changed 2 days ago since I did a water change, but it was looking weird for about a week before that. Sigh

All the water parameter is good(enough)
0 - Ammonia
0 - Nitrite
< 5 ppm - Nitrate

8.3 - Alk
1280 - Mag
420 - Cal (3 days ago)

Thanks and Would love to hear any comments that you have. I'm stuck and don't know what's wrong. Hope I didn't miss any details. Here are the pics.

it might be that you added the mag too fast, I would do the 3 caps in 3 days, 1 cap a day. But still I think your frogspawns are fine, its normal for them to have reaction when theres a sudden change in parameter. Btw, did you check salinity? mag increases salinity also, if you added all that into your system you might have also caused a bit of salinity swing.

My Salinity is fine. 1.025. I make sure it's at that at all times I forgot to even mention it. Ya I was told to slowly add Alkalinity up, but I seriously did 3 cap fulls within 10 minutes, I hope that's the problem and I hope it will heal. Thanks.

Add the supplements slowly so corals can acclimate to the changes. They are very sensitive to changes so go slow. What lighting are you using?
