Problems with white face tang

Ok guys lets hope somebody can help
I have a white face tang around six months, around 7 inches extremely fat. Today it started to do vertical circles. Like a car doing doughnuts but vertical. It does not have any sign of disease had perfect body until it went crazy with the circles and crashed into some rocks.

Curious to know what causes this too. The only times I have seen it are from fish that pass directly afterwards. Don't know if it's some sort of brain damage from improper harvesting, shipping or an accident in the tank.

does it do this constanly? Whats it doing when its not in dardevil mode? Still shows interest in food? I agree it sounds like a death dance, but I have seen this happen every now and then and pass with the fish being fine afterwards, I've read that its belived to possibly be linked to the need but inability to mate in captivity, though thats simply just been a theory.

I use to have a purple tang that would do that for a couple days then would be fine for a month or so then start it again. He did that as long as I had him for around 2yrs until I got rid of him. I have know idea what caused him to do that tho

My yellow tang has gone in to what I call "lunatic mode" where hes been really twitchy swimming in bursts all over the place and bumping into stuff. I don't know why hes doing it but maybe its similar to what your white face is doing. Maybe they do have a monthly thing that may only come out every now and then.

I was told it was a gill bacteria infection so its in qt with furan 2 and lets hope this works

Be sure the qt is adequate and won't stress him out even more. Sometime leaving it in is best. To save cash and time--- rubbermade and re-use 50% water change and new water. Next just a heater and powerhead. Hob filters are cheap and/or easy to borrow
