Protein skimmer problems

I am in process of getting my tank re-established. I only have water and sand at the moment . My skimmer won’t stop bubbling over-been 5 days. Tried slowing down flow, reducing air, etc.
any suggestions?

I had the same issue when I added some new sand and rocks...i shut off my skimmer for 2 days and it went back to working just fine...could be something in your water that is making it bubble over

What skimmer do you have and how deep is it in the water?

If too deep, try raising it up a bit. Also start by opening the air valve all the way and have the exit valve open all the way. Adjust bubble height by turning the exit valve only...leave air open all the way.

If you have lots of debris in the sand it will cause damage to you pumps, so I would turn off your skimmer for now and let the sand settle.
