So I will start by saying that I am somewhat new to this still, my tank has been up and running for about 7 months now. I got a torch coral a month or so ago and it has been doing pretty well, recently I saw that around the base the torch was mounted to a few mushroom looking things have appeared (about three). I am pretty sure that the item in question is a feather duster but would just like verification that it is in fact that and that it will not do any harm to the tank? They also appear to be spreading everywhere and I do mean from one end of the tank to the other and are growing pretty fast as well. I will include two pictures of the ones on the base and one section where they are spreading to rocks of other areas.
