So i am moving my fish from my 90 to my new 180 and was planning on quarantining them all before the move out of my fear of ich. I had ich in the 90 almost a year ago now and pulled and treated the fish and left the tank fallow for 8 weeks. Since that I it hasn't shown back up. I don't necessarily want to quarantine my fish I'm just concerned that they could still have it and bring it to my new tank. If i did quarantine should I treat for it as a precaution even if the fish seems fine? My concern with that is the addedstress for possibly no reason. Please throw in some advice and opinions please. Oh and my fish are 3 squareback anthias, purple tang and a checkerboard wrasse.

Possibly a stupid question but since you already have all of them in your 90, are they currently showing any signs of ich?
If they are not I am not sure what advantage the QT is going to provide if you are not going to treat them...
If you QT them, then move them to the new tank with out treating them aren't you in effect going to double the number of times the get stressed out, if they have any ich that is 2x the opportunities for it to overtake them and become an issue.

If you are going to QT then I would treat as you know there is ich in there history. On additional thing to consider is that ich can be transmitted from one system to another by just about anything. If you are going to be transferring anything else from your current 90 to the new system, you should extend your QT time for the fish well beyond the life cycle of ich. With out the fish any ich that gets transferred to the new tank will not be able to survive. Then when you add the fish in that have been treated there is no chance of them picking it back up from something else you transferred to the new tank.

Does that make sense?

Thanks for all the idea's so far! None of them do show signs of ich right now, witch is why I thought quarantining would just be added stress that they didn't need. Is it possible for them to be carrying it without showing sings?

It is definitely possible for fish to carry/host Ich in dormancy without any outward signs. In my old system would have occasional outbreaks with Tangs while going through pecking order adjustment and unfortunately transferred it to the 125g when first setup and mixed with new Hawaiian fish I collected. I have read and agree with several reports now stating that most all know strains of Ich will interbreed themselves to extinction without new genetic material in a 10-12 Month time frame. Meaning if you have not introduced any new untreated Fish or Corals/Live Rock from systems with fish in past year you should be parasite free in your system. Otherwise maybe a good idea to separate fish into QT while establishing Coral placement and aging new tank for a 8-10 week Fallow period to be extra safe.

Cheers, Todd
