I currently have a JBJ 45 Rimless and a AquaMaxx Prism LED Light Fixture 48w. My current corals are doing well with it, I was thinking about adding a Monti towards the top of my tank only about 6 inches or so from the surface. Do you think that this light would be sufficient and if not, what would you recommend?

Thats a link to the light I have.

I think you would be fine with montis, birdsnest, and some stylophoras at the upper most part of the tank. It wouldn't hurt to try a birdsnest. They are the more affordable tester corals per se.

Going to take a run over to Ultimate Corals on Monday and pick up a frag or two, will post progress on them. Lucky that I am close enough to see his stock in person, its very impressive

I was a little delayed in getting over to Ultimate Corals, but I finally made it there today. I picked up a Monti and a Birdsnest and have them in my tank now. I will try to post progress at least once a week on them. This is the first picture of the Monti that I have taken. Looks like it is opening up well even with the lights lower because of it being later in the day. Starting it off lower in my tank and will move it up a little each week on a frag rack till it is at the height I want it at permanently.
