Why do they cost so much? What do they look like when it's grown out? I only see little frags for sale and never see any colonies for sale. I can't even imagine what the colonies would cost if a tiny frags costs $$$$$. Are they fast growers? Easy or hard coral? Would love to see some pictures of how they grow from a frag to a colony if anyone has documented their growth in their tanks. Thanks and any info will be greatly appreciated.

I don't have colonies myself as i am not a chalice person, but I can tell you they are extremely slow growing (with the exception of hollywood stunner lol). They also have many colors and are rather delicate compared to other corals. This is mostly what drives the price up.

As with all coral though, its all worth it to whomever buys it and I refrain from calling a coral over priced because there is always someone willing to buy it.

check out the "chalice show off " thread...;)
One of my favorite threads. But be warned it will make you want to spend $$$$$$$$!

I enjoy chalices. Not gonna spend a fortune on them though so dont have anything crazy named but have a cpl of nice pieces. And as stated above all but stunner are sloooooooow growers.
