Just got a new 180 gallon tank, and had custom oak stand & canopy made.

I am a bit confused about what hardware would work best for hanging the Radion's.

The canopy is 73x25, and I was going to buy the hanging kit and rails (short or long) for the four lights.

Do the lights just connect together with the short or long rails and hang with the hanging kit?

Do I need hanging kit for each light?

I also see option for Multi-Light RMS?

Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to buy more or not enough, as I am already way over budget, and trying to keep wife happy :-)

Thanks

You will need 1x hanging kit, which are two cables and some hardware. You will need 1x Rail, which should be the 60" for your tank. Each radion will need its own RMS slide so you can attach them to the rails.

So the way it is set up is you connect a cable to each side to the 60" rail(attach included screws to secure them in place). Then attach the radions to the RMS slides(four in your case). Then attach the slides to the rail and position them as needed according to the tank layout. They slide within the rail and you can also set them alongside or perpendicularto the tank.

One thing that does not come with the hanging kit and you will need are anchors to be screwed to the ceiling drywall. You can get them at Home Depot for a few bucks. You will need two anchors with screws, one for each cable that attaches to the ceiling.

Good luck

Thank you so much for the information, that is what I needed to know. I placed my order today for all the required parts.

I do have one more questions before I buy the hardware. Keep in mind, I don't know answer so that why I am asking. The space I have from side to side on the canopy is 71", would I not want to get the 70.5 rail so I can make sure I have entire tank covered rather than the 60 inches rail?

Thanks

Yes get the 70 rail if you haven't all ready it's what I'm using on my 180 with canopy
