Radion RMS mount Question

Hi All

I'm waiting for my new Radions G5's to arrive but I'm sure I'm going to have to modify my tank hood to fit them. My tank has a very wide glass rim (30mm) and I doubt the RMS will go over it. I have an open top hood (basically a decorative wooden trim around the top) that is only three sides so I was going to add a bit across the back so I can clamp the RMS mounts on to it.

Question is
- What thickness can the RMS mount clamp maximum ?
- What is the depth of the clamp ?

This will help determine the size of trim I make for the back so its ready when they arrive..

Hi Allan. I’m ruining 2 xr30 G5’s with RMS mounts on my Red Sea Reefer 425 XL. Took out my ruler and see the widest would be about 3 centimeters. (The tightening screw comes out 3.5 centimeters.). The mount comes down 5 centimeters in the back of the aquarium. Good luck and very happy with radions.

Thanks Peter, thats exactly the info I needed. Looks like I probably won't have to modify my hood as the lip around the edge is 3cm so the RMS should go over it. I'll probably make a 2cm thick by 5 cm high trim to attach ready just in case. Cheers Al
