How can I tell if a radion is a gen2? Both of the ones I bought are dated 1/23/13

Pretty easy really, turn off the light then count the diodes if it's 32 then its gen2 if its 34 then gen1.

There are 21 on each puck 42 total?

With it on I counted 32. I am confused, why is there 21 holes but only 16 on each are on? Are the others not diodes?

You have gen 2 then. They use the same TIR lance for every Radion out there so the TIR has 42 slots and Radion pro has 42 LEDs, gen 1 has 34 LEDs so 8 slots remain empty and gen to has 32 LEDs so 10 slots remain empty. Hopefully it clear the confusion. Let me know!
