Raising light %'s

I rented a PAR Meter and found that my PAR was at the highest point 120 in my water column. I founf out that it would take about 20% more out of my radions (From 40-60%) to get to the 300's at the top with a nice 110 range at the sand bed. My goal is to increase the % by 2 every 5 days. Do you think that is too quickly or should the corals be able to adjust to 2% every 5 days?
