Raising Skimmer

I think I need to raise my skimmer. What are some good ways to do this? I was gonna use some egg crate/light diffusers, but I'm not sure if I should just stack that many layers, or if I should find some sort of plastic feet. Thoughts?

Zip ties and egg crate. Make a box the size you want and fill it with sheets of corrugated plastic sheeting. You get a platform for your skimmer and a pod condo.

I just used 1 inch pvc pipe and tri corner fittings. Zip tied a piece of egg creates to topside for the platform. Structurally remember weight of skimmer cup when it gets filled.
