I have my new Life reef sump and refugium coming should be here next week. It has 3 reactors with it, but I’m wandering what to run in them. I was thinking of one with Seachem Purigen, one with BRS bio pellets, but not sure about the other one. I’m hoping that I can have my refugium grow Cheto good with the reactors. What do you think I should run in the reactors, and would it harm the cheto in my refugium? Here is a picture of my sump and refugium Jeff sent me.

I know I’m at lest going to run one with purigen to keep the water crystal clear. Is there anything else that I should consider running?

I run a Purigen reactor. It can be done, but it can take a lot of patience.
The beads are so tiny, that they will escape the reactor.

Might just want to put the Purgien in "The Bag", then into your reactor.

Edit:
If you run your water too clear with all the nutrients stripped out, then it's not good for coral health.

Nice sump I have a Lifereef skimmer well built stuff, My fuge takes most everything out of my water, I end up dosing Iron to keep my Cheato growing well, I do run carbon but not all the time

My personal recommendation for the reactors would be GFO/carbon/bio pellets, but that's just me. As mentioned above, after testing your water, it will tell you what you need based on the results. In reagards to your refugium, would work best if ran before the reactors. Cheto will have more nutrients to export from the water column and will extend the life of your filter media.

I’m is a FOWLR so I don’t have coral. I will try using the purigen bag in the reactor. I think I will keep the other 2 reactors open for GFO and bio pellets if the need occurs.
