Red Algae on sand

I have a problem with what i think is some type of algae on my sand. It is mainly in the areas with hight light? Would like to know what to use to treat for it.

I have had the tank 5 years, but i bought it from someone and had it professionally moved. It was 4-5 years old when i purchased it. I have added a few fish and several corals since i had it moved/set up. It does appear to be more red in person

From the pics you posted it looks more brown rather than red. If brown it is likely diatoms, if red cyanobacteria. How long has the tank been up?
Its rusty red looking not bright red if that helps. So i guess it could appear brownish.
