Trochus snails and a small number of turbos.

Agreed on Trochus snails...plus they can right themselves before your H. melanurus can grab it!

Trochus here as well, I also like the Ceriths. They sleep in the sand and eat algae off the glass and rocks so you get two functions in one.

I havent had any trochus but they seem to be the front runner. Ceriths have been good to me

depends on the size tank, add a Conch on that Trochus.
