Hi everyone I am having some reef trouble in my tank. I have this algae and it is a black slime looking algae that is growing at a rapid paste, It is pretty much taking over my tank and I tried a lot of different things to get rid of it. If anyone could help me with information on getting rid of it, it would greatly be appreciated!

Google dinoflagellates algae and see if that's what you have.

Some pictures of the algae will help us all to advise

Here are a couple pictures of them. The tank was perfectly fine until I accidently put a contaminated rock with just a little bit on it not knowing that it would spread the way it did.

Cyano Algae.
Get a ton more water movement in there. Wave the stuff off the rocks and substrate, collect with a net what you can, with more flow, it should keep it from coming back.
