Just got a reefkeeper lite from a buddie. Has the pc4 the temp probe and the monitor. Just wondering which tank I should or which would you would put it on?

The 30 nuvo..... simply set up. Just a skimmer, power head, heater and return pump and led

Or

The 100 gallon with lots of stuff. Ato, 4x powerheads, skimmer, bio pellets, 3 different lights + a few other things

This is my first controler so any thoughts or help would be great! Thanks

I used one of the RKL's for quite awhile on a 28 Gallon Nano Reef. I liked it enough that I went with a RKE when I moved to a 38 Gallon setup. The RKL is limited to the number of modules you can connect. Out it on the 30 nuvo.

I use a RKL on my nuvo16 because I have a pretty simple setup but needed more than digital timers could give me. Its a great little controller at a decent price. I am very happy with it.

For my 90 mixed I use an APEX because I wanted some more flexibility that I didn't feel I could achieve with a RK.

Ok well is there anything special this thing can do? Or is it pretty much just a timer with a temp controler?

If you haven't check out Digital Aquatics site it should give you an idea of what you can do with it. Also has the documentation in case your buddy no longer had it:

It can turn off things based on incoming data using the Alarm function. Example: you can set it up to turn off your lights, heater, and any other hot pieces of equipment if your tank reaches a certain temperature. You can add a pH probe and have it shut off your Kalk or Alk if the pH goes too high.

Bulk Reef Supply has some videos on it that should help you out.
