On the other side of things what are some of the beings coral, fish or invert that you regret adding and why?

Fish: Christmas Wrasse, it wasn't necessarily a bad fish to add but after a while it became a little belligerent and would eat inverts such as a skunk cleaner.

Coral: It's at tie between Pandora and Pink and Gold zoas. Once again not bad additions but, their growth rates are incredible and can shade other coral. If you add them be sure to leave them by themselves.

Let's hear it!

Encrusting montis. I've got some mystic sunset that is just taking up so much real estate. i think i'm gonna glue acros over top of it.

Those need their own island too. Most are beautiful but like you said they take up so much room.

Melanaurus Wrasse. Seemed like a good way to get rid of planarian flatworms but now he attacks any new fish added. Already taken out 3 fish that I know of. Time to find a new home.

Strange, my melanarus wrasse is a model citizen haven't seen it bother any other fishes, wrasses included.

That doesn't sound good.

One of those stories. You know the owners. They don't do a very good job as far as animal husbandry goes, but you buy from them anyways. Your animal dies, and you aren't the least bit surprised. Annoyed at yourself, and that's when the regret sits in. It's taken me a while, but I've just stopped going.

Sounds like not going is for the best.

Got a pair of peppermint shrimp that started eating up some LPS; had to take apart all my rock work to get the little buggers out.

An elephant ear or giant cup mushroom. It tried to eat anything that walked on it or swim over it. I don't know if this is common, but it would bell up and try to enclose anything it could. And was occasionally successful. Including a skunk cleaner and a 3 inch black clown that tried to host it. :-( it was about 8-9 inchs across when open fully.

The infamous Damsel. The LRS said "oh damsels are perfect for cycling new tanks" blah blah...they never mentioned how much a jerk they could be once you start adding other fish. Ended up tearing down my aquascaping to get him out!

Thought I was going to have a problem with my new black and white occ clownfish, but was way off. On another note I am now convinced that a 6 line is not the next fish for me based on all the horror stories I have read from other reefers.

Six lines are ok but just make sure it's the last fish you add. Plays well if the tank mates were there before it but any fish with similar shape added afterwards will be a pecking bag lol.

Definitely my purple pseudochromis. He used to rule the tank. However, I think my magnificent fox face put him in his place recently... he hid for about 2 weeks straight. I thought he was dead. Then one day, he randomly and very skiddishly came out of the rocks to eat. I was shocked! He also had a small wound on his side. I have no way to know what happened for sure, but I like to think the fox face straightened him out. :D
