Opinions please...looking to replace a mag drive 12 return on my 75g. Sump located in stand so about 4' head loss. Please post the pump(s) you have used and opinions. Must be submersible as it will be used in sump.

thanks.

I've had a Waveline DC6000 on my 75g and have been very happy with it thus far. Tank has been running just over 13 months now and I've had no issues but I do need to clean the poor thing. It runs on the thirds lowest setting so the work load is minute; in hindsight I should have run it into a manifold to run the reactor too. I've read some horror stories with this pump but it has been trouble free (probably just jinxed myself). It is relatively quite (Deltec skimmer and MP40s are much louder than it is). At just over a year, I think it's premature to make a recommendation one way or another but hopefully it gives you a little info going forward.

I've heard good things about the quiet ones. Those wavelines look way out of my budget though. Anyone use the jebao dcp line?

I ran Quiet One and Mags in the past (10-20 years ago) and had a Quiet One for my last setup but it was really noisy. I swapped it out for a Rio because that is what I had (living in Japan at the time) but it was much quieter and worked just fine for the year the tank was setup. I still use the Rio for mixing salt and water changes.
