What do you think?
Just picked up today no name on them.
I am going to call them Reverse Purple Hornet...

pretty sure the purple hornets originated from indo but don't quote me on that one. I have the ones you got and I dont know why but they pop a lot more than my purple hornets imo, nice find nonetheless

there a variety of names im pretty sure. I think cherry corals calls them blue thunders but you can name them what you want because I dont think there is a set name for them.

not sure if theres an official name yet or not.... you can check on coralpedia.com... i just call mine jap deepwaters..

i think a reverse purple hornet would be a yellow polyp with a thin purple ring. the skirts would still be alternating purple and green/yellow

I think that naming in this hobby is pretty ambiguous especially corals. so many zoas/palys have so many names its hard to have a definite name, like blue hornets and african blue zoas

got a colony of them as well. Mine are from australia deepwaters, I don't think they are Japanese. I believe it is from Indo or Aussie.

The deepwaters aren't truely from Japan either. I have some of these also. Deepwaters.... not reverse PHs.
some are really from japan...... from what i heard they are starting to let people get select stuff from there reefs.... and these are japanese deepwaters....

Do we really have to add "Purple Hornet" to the names of new/old corals?
thats how it goes. everytime a coral get popular you see ten otehr with very similar names trying to jump on the gravy train. happened with PE, LE, hornets, lots of acans, chalices.
it will never end. thats why i always say by what you like and can afford. screw what the name is.
