Ok I can't seem to understand how these work together or not together. The net module works fine, the aid cable works fine with my reef 2.0 but what I can't understand is that one setting that has to do with the net module controlling myreef. I thought I would be able to dictate the IP in my reef and it would then see the modules remotely but don't think that is how it works. Can anyone tell how it should work and how to config the 2 to work together if possible? Thanks

mReef and the NET are 2 seperate things. myReef works via the SID and the NET is through your network.

The net module is strictly an interface between your controller and the internet. Once you connect it to your system you will need to program it through the head unit 2 assign the IP address. The Sid module is strictly an interface cable between my reef and your controller. It allows you to program the controller via the my reef program. Whereas the net module allows you to program the controller through a web interface.

Thanks all, the thing that was confusing me was the use the word "online" under the communication setup for both net module and myreef so did not know if that meant web type online but now know it just means online as in on and off in general.

Any benefit over using one or the other? And can both be used at same time? I have a sump room and could leave a laptop plugged into the system full time but if all the same functionality is on web then is there really a point?

The NET cannot program timers or alarms. I did leave myReef running 24/7 but that was a few years back. I used Teamviewer I believe to access that computer from another. I have the Archon now so there is no need since it is web based already.
