My RO system says it makes 15gpd. It's a culligan AC15 with a 3gallon tank. It takes forever to get 5gals of water after the PSI tank empties. How long dose it take your system to make water for you water change? Right now I am filling a bucket taking it up stairs and dumping it in my trash can. In 3days I got 20 gallons.

I want to put my can down stairs and let the ro water flow into the can and at 25gallons the float turns it off. Then I'll mix my water in there then I want to pump it up the wall then over 30ft in the 1/4" top off line from my ro unit. Sound like this will work? Would a mag 9.5 or a quite one 3000 pump the water that far?

Thanks

I would go bigger on the RO system, 15 GPD is really slow. I would fill a 10 gallon tank up stairs for top off, running a line is not worht the extra work, and it will not look good (as in a 1/4" tube running through your living room). I started my top off just like that, then upgraded to a black 13 gallon trash can, it takes up little space, and works for quite some time.

Well the 1/4 tube is already in use for top off to the sump and working great. Got it hidden behind base board. The tank is in the family room and a trash can sitting in there is out of the question. I just want to utilize the tubing to pump my water change water to the tank. Even if it takes 20min to fill up, just have to research a pump or try the ones I have.
