I have left rocks from my sump out to dry ... long story but need all the nastiest dead do not care about them being live but..... thought I was good and now here comes a storm. I read its not good for the rocks to get rained on because of chemicals in the rain. I don't think it should matter much since its only rain and I wont be hooking up the sump to the main tank for a week or so.

I would put those rocks in a tub of ro/di water with some circulation and let any phophates or nitrates leech out of it also scrub it as well. Change the water every few days until you get zero readings.

I am not worried about the leaching I have stuff to soak up the phos and nitrate starting cher it will soak it up quick

If it is just one rain it probably would not be too bad, i would still suggest soaking them in RO/RI water to get anything that could be in there out.

Not only ro di but I have a Baggie of carbon gfo in my rock tank. I want it ultra clean
