I've had my 75 gallon up and going for almost 8 months now. I did not want to have a rock wall appearance, but rather two rock piles with open swimming area. The longer the tank has been setup, the more I wonder if I put enough rock in the tank. What are you guy's thoughts? Should I try to add more to the display, or would I get the same benefit by adding it to the sump? I don't want to rock for appearance, but more for the biological filtration.

That looks like a reasonable about of rock for biological filtration. One of the challenges to adding it to the sump is that debris can accumulate under and around it so if you do put it there don't forget to account for it in your maintenance procedure. Good luck with the adventure!
