got my first RBT..decided to try one..its in my 220..as expected it left the spot i put it in..and went around to the back of that rock...I expected this..but i could eventually try to rotate that rock some if it stays there..should i give it a few days to see if it migrates..just put it in yesterday..also its supposed to be a rose bubble tip..it is a very bland color ..not even pinkish..is this normal...would love to hear some tips and info

Got a picture of it? I'd give it a few days to get comfortable then rotate the rock (or if it's healthy it should come back out on its own). It might move around again when you move the rock but usually not

Itll go where its happy.

I had a few rose rainbow bbt, color was mostly pinkish red. It was beautiful but it moved all over and killed $1000 in corals from irritation of its tentacles just running up and down on the other corals. It had to go.

That's a depressing story, I'd probably get rid of it too. They can be a pain when you first get them but once they pick a spot they are no problem (at least until they split and the split goes for a walk)

im actually in an ok position to have the thing now..I only have a few corals...mostly frag sized..and therefore not as worried about where it moves to..( i mean I dont have large established corals..most of the things I have are on smaller rocks or moveable...I dont think i would get one if i had a bunch of prized coral...I plan on having some coral ..if i can ever get good with growing it..but that will take a while..lots of room in a 220..I will try to take a pic if i can see more than the edge of it tommorrow..the thing went right to the back of the rock..same rock i placed it on..just the other side where you can barely see the side of it...Im hoping i didnt get gypped on the rose bubble..I dont know what they look like in person..but it really didnt seem to have red or pink tones....but i will see when the thing is out and expands its tentacles..I assume the color may change some..any other advice

In my pic I posted the nem on the left is a rose bubble tip, the one in the center is a green bubble tip (but looks brownish at certain angles), bubble tips come in many colors

Sounds like the clowns have noticed it, that's always good!

Interesting. I also notice the bulbed tentacles are not as prevalent. Many years ago I was sold what was said to be a bubble tip anemone, it turned out to be this.

very pretty...ok ..the anemone has decided to move slighlt more towards the front from the back of that rock..its starngely between the rock and the black overflow ..I cant really tell what its attached to..its opened a little more..its still not what i would call rose or even pink..maybe a very very bland muted purpley redish..not very pretty color right now..but guess what..my two clowns couldnt resist long..they are in it..doing all kinds of weird things..talking to each other..chewin it..diving in it..rolling in it!...I love it!..I doubt the thing will stay there..it cant be getting much flow..its kind of on the side of a rock thats close to the black overflow..I will try to take some pics tommorrow when my lights are whiter earlier in the day..
