RR Wolverine

It's unfortunate that yes, there appear to be copycats being sold. People try to pass off other similar-looking corals as RR Asia corals because of the value.

That said, I can verify that yes - Joe's is the true Wolverine from RR Asia, imported into the US via Two Guys Corals.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Benny did confirm that it was original wolverine. Thanks ben

Mine has a little more greenish/yellow highlights as well, but I have my T5 lights more toward the blue side. More white light will probably show better yellow highlights (especially in pics) The camera pics up alot of blue even when I adjust the white balance. Nice purple/blueish base with dark red /crimson polyps. I will try to post a decent pic later today when lights come on.

Found a photo I took of one of the Two Guys Corals frags at the end of March.

The RR BumbleBee AKA RR Wolverine

RR Canada previously had a website available to the public where you could download pictures, and back in 2011 or so, RR Canada called this coral the BumbleBee (at least that was the jpeg name they had attached to above picture). When the coral hit the United States a few years ago, Tony from RR USA called it the Wolverine, which came from RR Cananda/RR Asia. My RR Wolverine came directly from Tony back in 2012 ,first release, and is still going strong today. In any event, it is a pretty neat stick to add to your collection and does best in high indirect flow and high light in my opinion. :thumb:

Holy cow dude. That thing looks like it barely grew. In two years, it still looks like a frag.

The frags were tiny 1/2" straight from the ocean when first released (ie, very limited supply and huge demand). It takes a while to acclimate wild acros in my experience and the Wolverine has been a slow grower for me. I suspect now the frag sizes are larger since this coral has been in the hobby for a while.

A stunning piece for sure. I am hoping to obtain a frag sometime in the near future

This was the coral I was talking about. Said it's rr Asia wolverine. Maybe this is a different coral then the ones posted here, because it looks a lot different to me

Cool, no problem. I do know he sold some before I started.

Didn't mean to suggest that only Joe has it. I know he sold a colony to Age of Aquariums in Long Beach, and also a store in Chicago. I can verify that you bought it from him also, if needed.

Cheers!

Just wanted to update this - I have spoken with Big-D and Ray and can comfirm for Big-D's buyers that yes, he has the true Wolverine from Reef Raft Asia. :)

Cheers!

ask two guys corals who has purchased the most pieces from them and that would be Age of Aquariums

I picked up one of the RR Asia frags at MAX in LA (from Two Guys Corals, not AoA. In my opinion Two Guys Corals is the only good source for RR Asia corals). Paid the price to get a colored up frag that was guaranteed real-deal. It looks great in my tank, a bit more green than that yellow, but I think that is due to my water (yellows are tough to achieve in my system). Very red polyps on mine. Very purple base just like the pics above. It is a stunner.

I have it midway up a 24" deep tank, strong flow (theres a lot of flow in my tank), under an 8x39W ATI Powermodule. It seems to be loving life.

To be honest, it is a very tough coral. One of the other frags from MAX had flatworms found during my dip, so everything got an extra long dip and the offender was thrown out. Then they were dipped AGAIN in a strong dip a few days later and basted. This coral was clean, and went in the DT, and never even lost any color through all of the abuse. I think this one was worth the $$.

Toss me a pm if you have any questions, Ill try to get a pic.
