Rubber pad under return pump?

Anyone ever put like a 1" thick rubber pad under the return pump in a sump? My plumbing is a little short, but now that I think about it, a rubber pad or sound dampening pad seems like it would actually work out better.

I haven't but they make skimmer stands that are acrylic and might be easier to clean/maintain that I'd look at if I had to raise it up
