I have a ruby scat in a saltwater tank. Was already a saltwater fish when I bought it about a month and a half ago. Woke up this morning to see it turned almost entirely white! Still swimming and eating like normal. Any idea what might be going on? Other members of tank are fine (snowflake eel, clarkii clown, rbta, seahare).

I've got a Ruby Scat in my tank, big sucker to boot. But never seen em turn white. How's he lookin now?

He's looking better, only now he's green instead of red! I'm thinking he may have had a run in with my rbta. I've never seen a fish turn so white (at least not a live one!). He's about 5" right now, but growing fast! First pic is when he was mostly white. Was in a hurry to get to work, didn't have a chance to switch off blue LEDs. Second pic is from tonight.

YEa, that looks about the right color. They end up with just a tinge of the red on the outter fins and body, not much left after they reach adult.

But before he turned white, he was a deep brown/red/rust colour. He changed over the course of about 6 hours. Green and white ever since.

That's his matue coloring. Ill try and get a good shot of mine. The only red left on mine is in his fins.
