I am pretty sure my setup is similar to many other aquariums and I wonder how do you guys handle rust. My aquarium sits on an enclosed stand and the water from sump/ATO evaporates and condensates to all sort of equipment. Metal parts are problematic - so all my hinges are rusted, USB ports on APEX are rusted. I don't mind changing hinges once a year or so for esthetic purpose but APEX is pretty expensive and it is basically life support.

My tanks are open backed and my doors on three side are louvered . I don’t have that issue but have you considered making a couple holes in the back and in one hole putting a fan blowing out maybe with a cage of some sort to collect any salt from getting blown into the fan or outside of your tank ? Just a thought

If you are seeing rust, fans are a good option, as well as sump covers - anything to reduce humidity. You can spray hinges with a clear lacquer and that will help - a little. You can also try to section off your under-tank cabinet into a sump area, then a "dry" area for electronics, which also might help. Beautiful tank BTW!

I have that and have always had that. Salt does a number through evaporation and moisture

A peninsula limits your options a bit.. I would section off a part to keep moisture out.
