Safe paint for inside canopy?

Should be fine as it won't be in constant contact with the water. Also, Its not water soluble, so if any gets into your tank, just fish it out.

Just be aware that it says you need to use a different marine coatings primer first, when applying this paint to bare wood.

Is the canopy metal or wood?

This is it standing on end. It is pine and poplar. It also has a back and lid, so all five walls inside will be painted.

Is color the only reason to pick rustoleum? It's anti-corrosion ingredients are useful on wood.
That particular Topside paint dries really hard and smooth, like plastic. The texture is like fiberglass boat hull.

Or maybe I should just do polyurethane ... the wood is kinda pretty inside.
